SWU Crave Staff~ Welcome!

Welcome to a weekend full of God’s love and spontaneous fun!  We are so glad you decided to give up your November weekend and spend it with us.  Lots of preparation and hard work went into this event and we hope you enjoy it as much as we have loved doing it!  If you have any questions, on Friday there will be students wearing black Crave shirts with STAFF written on the back…they would be more than willing to help you out.  Again, have fun and let your heart be open to all God has planned for you!

Speaker

 

Davey Blackburn is the speaker this year! 

Davey attended Southern Wesleyan University where he played baseball and graduated with a degree in Communication and Christian Ministries.  He is currently the Student Pastor at NewSpring Church Greenville Campus.  He is passionate about introducing young people to a relationship with Jesus Christ and helping them take their next step as a fully devoted Christ-follower through innovative and challenging ways.  He also enjoys playing the guitar, participating in just about any sport, and spending tons of time with his beautiful wife, Amanda.

Class Options

What is college life like? 

Yeah, we love to hang out and stay up late, but every once in a while we have to do that one thing called… schoolwork.  Oh, yeah!  That!

A majority of your day while in college will involve going to class and doing homework.

Crave is offering two class options for those that want to see what a class at Southern Wesleyan may look like.  You can go sit in on either of these two college courses.  Here they are…

Break Out Session: Act V

Phil Pranger was born at a very young age. Later in life he would attend Bible Institute- Territories East University BITE-U. He majored in Bagpipes and excelled on the cheese inspection team. He and his purebred pet mutt, Skillet, have been scowering the Earth for a potential life-mate for Phil; but Phil has high standards. He insists that his wife must have a pulse.

    During his spare time, Phil can be found participating in high risk sports like running with scissors, eating under-cooked hotdogs, and watching rednecks pump gas with cigarrettes in their mouths.

    Seriously, phil loves young people and has been involved with youth ministry for over 25 years. He has spoken at conferences such as The Creation Festival, Cornerstone, Promise Keepers, and Youth Specialties. his passion in life is the community in the residence hall where he serves at SWU.
